Since 1999, I have taught courses in intellectual history, global politics and history, political philosophy and public administration in Cambridge, Rotterdam, Helsinki and Venice, supervised numerous student theses, and been involved in curriculum design.

Titles of courses I have taught include:

  • Political Philosophy & Democracy,

  • Intellectual History,

  • International Economic History,

  • History of Political Thought,

  • Normative Aspects of Politics & Policy,

  • foundations of the social sciences,

  • International society & Democratic Institutions,

  • History of Governance,

  • Qualitative Research Methods,

  • History of International Relations.

Most of my courses revolve around making students ask historical questions about present-day ideas that we tend to take for granted, and critically read sources in the history of politics.
